These are five, in a series of twelve, portraits of “courageous women”, who shared a moment of their lives, fighting to find peace and love, towards themselves and towards their own bodies, following difficulties of life and health on a path of psycho-therapeutic group help, which led to a calendar.

I chose these five pictures (of a series of 12) for reasons of stylistic homogeneity, even though my style of photographing people does not follow strict rules:  I believe that, despite my personal technical choices, capturing the moment and the sentiment which illuminates a face, is my absolute priority, and in this project I perhaps worked more than ever before, outside of all stylistic formats.

I felt sadness, I wept from emotion, I laughed with all my heart and I shared the human warmth that vibrated between them in each meeting, and the final project of the calendar was for them, a true personal success of photo-therapy, in which every subject lent themselves to the goal without fear or rigidity.
